In 2021, we released Someday as a bucket-list activity manager. It was born during the COVID-19 pandemic, where a lot of things became impossible.
While the app has its unique personality and stable user base, it’s not a thing we can keep supporting as a commercial product. As such, we are making the app entirely free — with a tip jar for those who want to pitch in.
Starting with Version 2026 (yes, we moved away from the major-minor versioning system), you can do these in Someday without limits:
Create as many activities as you want. “Activities” are things that bring you joy, such as 🌍 planning a trip, ✈️ flying home for a visit, 🍝 dine out at a local bistro, or 🥾 go hiking somewhere in the mountains.
Attach ideas to your activities. “Ideas” are concrete items you can check off from an activity. It can be a destination of your next trip, books you want to read, a new video game that has just come out.
Pin your ideas to the list. By default, an idea becomes archived once you mark it completed. You can pin them in the list, perfect for ideas you want to revisit time and time again.
Customize your activities. Add a personal touch to your activities with colour and emoji. There’s no longer a limit on the colours or emojis you can choose from.
Fine-tuned scheduling. Every Wednesday, Someday features 3 activities from your list. The picks are based on when you last did something, so you always get fresh rotations throughout the year. With fine-tuned scheduling controls, you can choose how often an activity gets picked (once a year for traveling, but maybe monthly for reading a new book).
You can also limit the activity to be featured only in certain months of the year — no more ski trip suggestions in the summer!
Other than the features going free, Version 2026 received some other quality-of-life updates, too:
-
We are adding support for iOS and iPadOS 26. Liquid Glass makes sure the app looks at home on your iPhone and iPad.
-
More languages: fun and love are universal, and we are making the app available in Spanish, French (France and Canada), German, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, and Simplified and Traditional Chinese. We also updated the text in different English variants in the Australia, Canada, the UK, and the US.
-
Multi-window support on iPad: Someday has always supported multiple windows, but we made sure it runs more reliably on virtually all window sizes possible on iPadOS 26.
-
A new but familiar app icon, together with a transparent variant for iOS and iPadOS 26.
We hope you’ll enjoy the update, and we are excited to bring the app to more people. Without sugarcoating it, Someday won’t get as much development attention as a free app. But the app doesn’t need a server to function: it works locally, and syncs with iCloud. Barring any unforeseen issues, Someday should work on your iPhone and iPad for years to come. We are excited that Someday joins our fleet of free-with-a-tip-jar apps that form the Sasquatch Studio identity: apps that are functional, well scoped, beautifully designed, and just works.
If Someday sounds like an app you’ll love, give it a try here from the App Store. You’re welcome to check out our other free apps, Woolly, a private gift card tracker and manager, or Kodist, an anti-AI film camera that takes photos like no others.
