Hi there, it’s been a while! PowerTimer, my multi-timer app from 2019, hasn’t seen an update since early 2023. I’m happy to say the quiet years are over: Version 2026 is now on the App Store, and it’s a big one.
Here’s what’s new:
A refreshed design. The app features a new but familiar look, adopting Liquid Glass on iOS 26 — while continuing to support older devices running iOS 18.2 and later.
Flash Timer. Start a countdown directly, without configuring anything first. Sometimes you just need five minutes on the clock.
iCloud sync. Your timer collection now saves and syncs with iCloud, automatically, with no account sign-up. (Timer sessions stay local to each device — they are not synced.)
Share your timers. Send a timer as a portable file over Messages, Mail, and more. Complex routines take time to build; now you only have to build them once.
More languages. PowerTimer now speaks English, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, French, Spanish, Italian, German, Portuguese, Japanese, and Korean — with improved English variants for the US, the UK, Australia, and Canada.
Multi-window support on iPad. Open the app in multiple windows and resize them freely. You can also open a dedicated full-screen window for a timer with one tap.
Quality of life. Improved Siri and Shortcuts support, timer notifications marked Time Sensitive so they stand out front and centre, and fixes for a few bugs with complex, multi-step timer setups.
I’m also rethinking the pricing. PowerTimer now offers a one-off purchase at a more affordable price; old subscriptions are grandfathered, and you’re welcome to upgrade anytime. Some features are opening up to free users, too: you can import and export your data — I’m backing the belief of data portability — and use preset timers from the library, including the ones with a complex setup.
PowerTimer was one of my earliest apps, and it deserves better than sitting still. This update brings it back into the fold, and I intend to keep it there.
If you have timing needs — in the kitchen, at the gym, at the desk — give PowerTimer a try on the App Store.
